【摘 要】开放及创新教育国际会议 (International Conference on Open and Innovative Education) 是香港公开大学每年举办的重点会议。会议的目的是提供一个开放及创新教育的交流平台,促进此领域研究和实践方面的合作,并推广开放及创新教育以提升院校的教育素质。本会议于2018年的7月4至6日在香港举行。来自全球17个国家和地区的170多位参加者通过论文报告和海报展示,汇报和讨论研究成果。本文概括会议的总体情况和主要议题,探讨开放及创新教育研究与实践的最新发展和趋势。会议论文覆盖4个主要范畴,包括:①教学及课程创新;②教育技术创新(移动和泛在学习、社交媒体与技术中介学习社群、学术/学习分析和虚拟学习等);③开放教育、开放教育资源与MOOCs;④高等教育管理创新。会议内容反映出学者的关注:将教育技术创新应用于不同学习情境;针对学习者特点和需要进行个性化教学;实践开放及创新教育时的困难解决。

The Trends in Research and Practice in Open and Innovative Education:A Review of ICOIE 2018

Abstract:The International Conference on Open and Innovative Education (ICOIE) is one of the major academic events organized annually by the Open University of Hong Kong. This annual conference aims to provide a platform for sharing research, practices and views relevant to open and innovative education; to facilitate collaboration among researchers and educators in the fi eld; and to promote open and innovative education to enhance educational quality and achievements. The ICOIE 2018 was held on 4 to 6 July. The participants–more than 170 researchers and educators from 17 countries/regions–reported on and discussed the results of their studies through oral and poster presentations. This paper summarizes the key issues raised in the conference activities and papers in order to examine the latest developments in research and practice in open and innovative education. The papers covered four major areas, viz. (1) pedagogical and curriculum innovations; (2) innovations in educational technology (e.g. mobile and ubiquitous learning, social media and technology-mediated learning communities, academic/learning analytics, and virtual learning); (3) open education, open educational resources and massive open online courses; and (4) innovative approaches to higher education management. As shown in the conference, scholars in the fi eld have focused on applying the latest educational technologies to diverse contexts of learning. They have promoted personalized learning based on the characteristics and needs of learners, and tackled the challenges in the practices of open and innovative education.
